As 2015 Art Maui Quickly Approaches

No mention of Art Maui 2014,  but what a beautiful show it was.  Although Kihei Arts Council has several entries, none were selected for exhibition.  We are all excited about this years possibilities and  will be resuming our Friday Life Drawing Classes at 10am for the month of February.  Looking forward to seeing you there,  $30 donation for model bring your own supplies.

Congratulations to Lynne Garzino for being accepted into the prestigious State wide, Tri-Annual Schaefer Gallery Portrait Competition.  It is the third year Lynne has been in this show and we are so proud to have her as the President of the Kihei Arts Council.

Lynne Garzino pulls it out again and again!  So the ladies were wanting to try something new.  What fun it was..Lynne had to work at the MACC earlier in the day and arrived with a freshly strung vibrant yellow plumeria lei.  AS the afternoon sun fell into the westerly horizon, the beams of light came streaming through the studio jealousy wooded window slats...The above is HeidiKarins amazing resulting little acrylic on paper.

Art Maui 2011

Painting done in oil 60x50.  by Lynne Garzino of South Maui. Lynne is president of the Kihei Arts Council and been since 2004.  Her work has been accepted into Art Maui in two previous years as well.  The title of the piece above is "Break Time." Figure and expressionistic abstracts remains the driving force in Lynne’s art.  Expressive brush and palettte knife strokes along with densely worked oils are signature characteristics.  She is a colorist at heart and uses live models to achieve a very raw and real interpretation of what she sees in front of her.
